Amber Kashmir (Gaillardia pulchella), also known as Kashmiri amber or amber resin, has a long history of use in aromatherapy and traditional medicine, particularly in ancient Egypt. The use of Amber Kashmir in ancient Egypt highlights the importance of aromatic resins and their multifaceted roles in the religious, medicinal, and cultural practices of this ancient civilization.

Kashmiri amber is a fossilized tree resin that is primarily found in the Kashmir region of the Indian subcontinent. The ancient Egyptians likely obtained Amber Kashmir through trade networks, as the resin was highly prized and not locally sourced in Egypt.

Amber Khashmir was thought to have healing and restorative properties. It was used in traditional Egyptian medicine to treat a variety of ailments, including respiratory issues, skin conditions, and digestive problems. The resin was attributed with anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and analgesic properties, making it useful for various therapeutic applications.

Amber Khashmir was believed to possess soothing, anti-stress and anti-anxiety properties, helping to reduce anxiety and stress levels. The resin was sometimes combined with other essential oils, herbs, and resins to create complex aromatic remedies and ointments.
